FINANCE OPERATIONS MANAGER

Make a Difference in the Numbers

Are you a finance professional who thrives on keeping operations running smoothly, empowering colleagues, and strengthening financial systems? Would you like your next role to support something bigger than the bottom line?

We’re looking for a Finance Operations Manager to lead our day-to-day financial operations at Chailey Heritage Foundation, a charity supporting children and young people with complex disabilities. You'll oversee our accounts payable and receivable processes, cash flow, VAT, reconciliations, and team leadership — ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and strong financial control across the board.

LOCATION: Hybrid / Onsite (North Chailey, BN8 4EF)

SALARY: up to £46,000 DOE

HOURS: Monday – Friday, 37 hours

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and developing a small, dedicated team across AP and AR functions
  • Managing payment cycles, credit control, supplier relationships, and internal queries
  • Overseeing reconciliations, VAT returns, fixed assets, and financial controls
  • Monitoring cash flow and producing forecasts for strategic planning
  • Supporting audits and ensuring our systems and policies remain robust
  • Driving improvements and streamlining processes through technology and automation
  • Collaborating with colleagues to strengthen insight, efficiency, and delivery

What We’re Looking For

  • A relevant finance qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA) or working towards one
  • Experience leading finance operations within a medium-sized organisation
  • Strong understanding of AP/AR, reconciliations, cash flow, and VAT
  • Skilled in managing people, systems, and process change
  • Confident communicator, able to explain financial data to non-finance audiences
  • A collaborative and solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Sage, Access, or similar finance systems (desirable)

Why Join Us?

At Chailey Heritage Foundation, you’ll be part of a close-knit team that makes a real difference, not just balancing budgets, but helping us explore life-changing possibilities with the children and young people we support.

You’ll join a community of colleagues who care deeply about getting it right! Whether that’s refining systems, managing funding, or supporting others to thrive. We’re improving how we work across the board, and that includes finance.

This is a place where your voice matters, your ideas are welcome, and your work has meaning.

THE REWARDS GO BEYOND SALARY…

We know that feeling valued goes beyond the payslip. Here, you’ll be part of a workplace that looks after its people — with practical benefits and everyday support that make a real difference.

  • Enhanced Workplace Pension
  • Retail and leisure discounts
  • Healthcare Cashplan
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Health & Wellbeing Resources
  • Death in Service benefit
  • Free tea/coffee/kitchen facilities
  • Onsite Café and free parking
