IT Technician Apprentice

 

Chailey Heritage Foundation has an exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic IT Technician Apprentice to join a unique place to work.

  • LOCATION: Hybrid/ Office
  • SALARY: £6.38 per hour (above the apprenticeship rate)
  • HOURS: Monday – Friday 37 hours (one day dedicated to studies)

What you’ll be doing:

 

As the IT Technician Apprentice you will be enrolled onto the apprenticeship program as “Information Communications Technician - Support Technician”. You will work alongside our specialist team of IT professionals where you will gain hands on training and practice experience in supporting and maintaining the organisation's information technology systems.

  • You will assist the Technology department in providing technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. Whilst learning to diagnose and resolve technical problems.
  • Participate in the setup, installation, and maintenance of computer hardware, peripherals, and software applications.
  • Perform routine updates
  • Contribute to the development of user training materials and workshops
  • Assist in all administrative duties such as record keeping, and equipment inventory etc.
  • Participate in activities related to IT security and data protection, including password management, access control, and basic security protocols
  • Engage in ongoing learning and training opportunities to expand technical skills/ knowledge for the role
  • Keep up to date with latest technology trends
  • Work towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification in a relevant subject area.

What you bring to the table:

 

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • GCSE or similar level education
  • Show an interest in technology through school subjects taken, work experience, hobbies or other interests
  • Enthusiasm and strong interest in pursuing a career in information technology
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware and software
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and willingness to learn

Other useful skills and experience:

  • Evidence of keeping up with technology trends and progression
