Position overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Leisure and Skills Centre . As the Life Skills Manager you will have operational management of the LSC, Café, Holiday Club, and activities provision for the Children's Home and Hub. Ensuring all who access the services have a safe, personalised, and enjoyable experience that improves or maintains physical and emotional health and wellbeing.
JOB TITLE: Life Skills Manager
SALARY: up to £44,000 depending on experience
HOURS: Full time 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
LOCATION: North Chailey / Hybrid
Responsibilities:
- Lead a culture of positive and proactive participation for those we support, and those who access our services with external support.
- Drive a high-performance culture that ensures an outstanding customer experience is delivered and secures repeat business.
- Ensure the people we support are suitably safeguarded and there are appropriate systems in place to ensure a safe service is delivered at all times
- Oversee the delivery of sessions / activities / support / food and beverage preparation and serving within the LSC, Hub, Holiday Club, After School Club, and Café.
- Act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead and contribute to maintaining a strong culture of Safeguarding across the Foundation.
- Own the recruitment, induction, training and ongoing development of colleagues and volunteers in line with CHF approach, policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Strong Communicator
- Demonstrates strong leadership and decision making
- Calm and rational approach to emergency situations and conflict.
Essential:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, or willingness to undertake within first twelve months of appointment
- Further specialist qualifications as appropriate and participation in a Leadership Development Programme
- Extensive experience of working with children and/or adults with disabilities in a managerial capacity
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the operational and management requirements of a day service.
- Comprehensive knowledge of care standards and the requirements of the regulator/s applicable to the service/s (E.G OFSTED, CQC)
