An exciting opportunity has arisen in our LSC department for a Fitness Instructor Apprentice. This is a new and exciting role for Chailey Heritage Foundation, and offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work with an experience team, gain knowledge in rebound therapy and work in our bigger and new gym facilities.

 

MORE ABOUT THE ROLE:

 

JOB TITLE: Fitness Instructor Apprentice

SALARY: £6.38ph (you will be paid 5 days a week which includes one day for your studies)

HOURS: Monday – Friday 37 hours

LOCATION: Onsite

 

As our Fitness Instructor Apprentice, you will provide support to the Fitness Centre Manager to ensure the smooth running of the Gym facilities whilst being trained to become a level 2 Gym Instructor.

 

PLEASE NOTE, The government apprenticeship programme will determine your pay. However,  we pay a higher apprenticeship rate.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

 

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

 

  • 2 or more GCSEs at grades 9 to 3 (A* to D), or equivalent, for a level 2 course
  • A genuine interest in the fitness industry, in particular supporting those with a physical disability and/or complex health needs
  • Demonstrates good customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Experienced or has Knowledge of Microsoft packages

 

Other useful skills and experience:

 

  • Previous experience in a fitness or customer service environment is desirable.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Participate in a structured apprenticeship program to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for fitness instruction.
  • Attend training sessions, workshops, and courses to learn about exercise techniques, program design, and safety protocols.
  • Interact with customers in an effective way, addressing enquiries, providing information, conducting tours and promoting a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Assist fitness assessments/consultations under the supervision of certified instructors
  • Using Gym Assessments, instruct new members explaining and demonstrating how to use appropriate equipment.
  • Following appropriate level of training, lead LSC gym, games and rebound therapy sessions, giving high quality fitness training, advice, programmes, and assessments.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organised workout environment, including equipment setup and cleaning.
  • Assist certified fitness instructors during classes, learning the dynamics of different fitness programs.
