We are looking for a Farm Hand to join our small team on Patchwork Farm, a therapeutic care farm that has been specially designed to allow the young people onsite a unique, hands on, multi-sensory experience with a number of different animals.

The main purpose of this new role is to participate in the daily husbandry and routines of the farm, alongside the Farm Manager and Farm Assistant.

 

We are looking for someone to work 10 hours split equally over the week, Monday to Friday.  These hours will be worked flexibly, in agreement with the Farm Manager and will include at least 2 bank holidays per year.

 

Main duties:

 

*         Preparing feed and water for the animals

*         Cleaning, disinfecting and maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness

*         Maintaining enclosures to ensure safety of all animals

*         Daily record keeping and completion of all relevant animal paperwork

*         Animal health checks

*         Assist with the handling of animals for routine treatments, such as foot trimming and shearing

*         Assist with the handling of animals for school sessions

*         Attend to the exercise, socialising and grooming needs of the animals when needed
