MORE ABOUT THE ROLE:

 

JOB TITLE: Estates and Facilities Manager

SALARY: £45,000 to £55,000 DOE

HOURS: Monday – Friday 37 hours

LOCATION: Onsite

 

As our Estate and Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for the Chailey Heritage Foundation estate, securing a safe and efficient operating environment and advising on all aspects of property management.

 

You will lead the Estates Team to meet high standards and efficient attendance to site, buildings, and equipment maintenance, ensuring services are well supported and service delivery excels and advise on new developments and responsible for the delivery of construction projects on-target.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

 

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

*       Membership of relevant professional body e.g. RICS, CIOB, CIBSE, CEng

*       Professional certificate in Facilities/Estates/Construction industry

*       Proven experience in estates and facilities management, with a track record of successful project delivery.

*       Knowledge of health and safety regulations, environmental sustainability, and property management

*       Proficient in budget management and financial analysis.

*       Experience of leading and motivating a team effectively and cohesively.

*       Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills

*       Ability to contribute to the management and strategic direction of the Foundation.

*       Proficient in the use and application of technology to create efficient working practices.

*       Works flexibly and willing to be available to be on call as reasonably required

 

Other useful skills and experience:

*       Nebosh/IOSH qualification

*       Experience of working within a senior team and contributing to the strategic development of an organisation

*       Experience of delivering training

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

 

Budget Management 

  • Consult with service managers to develop and manage a 3-year capital programme supporting Foundation Strategic Plans and individual service improvement plans.
  • Accountable for Estates Operating Budget
  • Manage the Patchwork Farm operating budget.
  • Provide regular updates to senior colleagues.

Energy/Utilities Management

  • Lead on the Foundation’s environmental policies and practices
  • Secure best value for the Foundation in the provision of utilities, regularly reviewing supplier costs and taking expert advice where required.

Project Management

  • Work closely with architects, consultants and service managers to keep projects compliant with statutory regulations.
  • Delegate general day to day oversight of internal and external teams working on small capital projects.
  • Act as the client project manager on larger capital schemes.

Health and Safety

Capital Assets

  • Ensure all capital and other assets are recorded and registered appropriately in the Foundation Asset register.

Foundation-Wide Services

  • Oversight of the Foundation’s engineering function, encouraging innovation to enable the children and young people to pursue their potential.
  • Day to day operational support and oversight
  • In collaboration with the Chief Executive and Foundation Leadership Team, lead the development and trialling of the Foundation Business Continuity Plan and specifically providing advice on Estates and Health and Safety issues and being a member of the core team in the event of an emergency.

Governance

  • Act as Lead Manager for the Governors’ Committee
  • Provide information, reports and support to Capex Sub-Group and Trustees’ Capital

Cleaning and Laundry

  • Provide advice and support to the Maintenance Manager
