We are currently recruiting for an Aquatics (Swimming) Assistant to work 29.5 hours per week, term time only.  The main aspect of this role is to support the Aquatics team in the effective operation of the Hydrotherapy pool on a day-to-day basis.

 

The Aquatics Assistant will be responsible for providing the highest standards of delivery, care and safety at all times, liaising with staff who use the Aquatics facilities, offering support and instruction to all age groups and different needs of young people, of all standards and ability.

 

You will be assisting with the delivery of Aquatics programmes and sessions as part of the school day whilst supporting young people to achieve their potential and curriculum objectives.

Above all, we are looking for an individual who possesses: 

  • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is essential for this role
  • ASA / STA Level 1 / 2 Teaching Aquatics would be desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience within a similar role
  • Good awareness of Health & Safety especially within a pool/leisure environment
  • Experience of working with children and/or adults with disabilities
  • Positive attitude towards diversity in general and specifically towards the rights, independence, inclusion and choice for children and young adults with complex needs
  • Good communication and administration skills

We are extremely pleased to announce that we are now offering a ‘Golden Hello’ of £600 for newly appointed employees for roles that involve working directly with the young people at school, in our residential bungalows or in the community. The £600 will be paid in three payments over twelve months, provided the eligibility criteria is met. 

  • 1st payment £200 – in first payroll after joining 
  • 2nd payment £200 – after 6 months on satisfactory completion of probation 
  • 3rd payment £200 – after 12 months employment  

All payments are subject to satisfactory performance.  And all subject to PAYE.
